About Geoffrey Canada Community Center

The Geoffrey Canada Community Center (GCCC), formerly known as the HCZ Community Center, opened its doors to the community in 2004. The center is also home to Promise Academy® II Middle School and High School.

During the school day, both Promise Academy® II Middle School and High School service approximately 500 scholars in total. By 4 pm, the GCCC is home to the Promise Academy® II Teen After School Program, offering arts enrichment and leadership development to Promise Academy® scholars.

Additionally, the GCCC provides a space for members of our community to gather for group activities, social support, public information, and other purposes. The building has on-site safety officers 24 hours a day, allowing GCCC to be a safe haven for our scholars and all those who visit.

Our center is open to the entire Harlem community, and all activities are free.
