About West Side Community Center

The West Side Community Center (WSCC) opened its doors in 2013 to the residents of Central Harlem. WSCC, which shares a building with Promise Academy® I Charter School and the Promise Academy® I After School programs, was established to be a place of social gathering and a hub of community resources.

Individuals, groups, and families visit us for a range of reasons — from enjoying fun classes to celebrating various holidays with friends and neighbors. Residents are also welcome to meet with members of our team to take advantage of several benefits or, as needed, be referred to our many partners for additional supports. And, with safety officers on-site 24 hours a day, WSCC is a safe haven for our community.

All of the activities we host are free to attend. While WSCC is open to all Harlem residents, many of its services are offered specifically to our St. Nicholas Housing neighbors.
