Harlem Children’s Zone CEO Kwame Owusu-Kesse is featured on City & State New York’s 2022 Nonprofit 100, a list recognizing the New York nonprofit sector’s “most important and effective leaders.”
“Nonprofit organizations play an invaluable and yet overlooked role in New York,” according to City & State. “These organizations, with rare exceptions, are led by idealistic executives who toil day after day to make New York a better place.”
City & State New York praised Mr. Owusu-Kesse, appointed CEO of HCZ in 2020, for a myriad of accomplishments including his leadership catalyzing the organization’s national COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Effort to support Black and brown communities disproportionately impacted by the pandemic.
