Ways to Give

Make a Donation

Working with 13,705 children, one child at a time, requires significant financial resources, which must be raised annually. We have accomplished so much through the generosity of private donors, changing the odds for kids and families throughout the Children’s Zone® and becoming a national model to end generational poverty. We hope you will consider a gift to support this important work.

Provide College and Career Exposures

HCZ has nearly 1,000 students enrolled in college, and thousands more middle and high school students poised to follow. We provide intentional and high quality exposures to all, ensuring their preparation for college
and the highly competitive job market.

Workshops are often the first exposure to a professional environment for our middle school, high school and college students. We organize events where students learn from seasoned professionals about their journeys and different fields, and develop tailored workshops with corporate volunteer teams. Workshops, which take place at companies or at HCZ, include topics such as: Creating an Elevator Pitch, Business Etiquette, Resume Building, and Mock Interviewing.

Internships provide our college students with the opportunity to gain work experience, forge valuable relationships and build a much-needed networking base. Plus, the income they can earn helps cover the cost of college tuition and books.

If your company offers workshops or internships – or would like to start – please let us know.
Our bright students are eager to learn and gain experience.

Provide Arts and Cultural Exposures

HCZ accepts donations of tickets to plays, exhibitions, museums, concerts, sporting events and other cultural happenings to expose our children and families to the enriching activities available right here in New York City and beyond.

Organize a Drive

Books help our families build home libraries and are especially crucial for children at the beginning of our pipeline.

Backpacks filled with school supplies ensure our children have all the essentials for the school year.

Kits created for families living in shelters, parents of newborns, or college students away from home for the first time offer relief and support during stressful times.

New items only please.
HCZ will work with you to ensure your drive matches our families’ needs, so we ask that you
please reach out to discuss before starting any fundraising drive on our behalf.
