Zone High School Programs Showcase Fashion, STEM, Music, and Dance at Éveil Mental 2022

Talented scholars from our Zone High School Programs presented fashion, STEM, music, art, dance, and literary projects at their end-of-season showcase, Éveil Mental: Mental Awakening.

Éveil Mental is the culminating event for our Zone High School Programs — offering high school scholars at HCZ the opportunity to gain career-ready skills and experience, learn from industry professionals, and create passion projects in a range of fields. Our Zone University programs are Academy of Arts and Civic Engagement, Countee Cullen Community Center, and The Employment and Technology Center.

Talent on the move

Éveil Mental kicked off with a reception and gallery exhibitions at our Salem Community Center. With the support of industry professionals, scholars created virtual reality, animation, art, spoken word projects and more. They launched Harlem Overheard, HCZ’s premier student lifestyle magazine featuring writing and photography from Zone high school after-school programs and HCZ Promise Academy Charter School scholars.

Following the exhibition portion of Éveil Mental, scholar designers and models took to the runway for a dazzling fashion show featuring collections they created. Designers shared the stage with musicians and dancers who brought down the house with performances of original songs and choreography. Congrats to all our scholars on their amazing work!
