First Lady Michelle Obama joined the Harlem Children’s Zone community in celebrating thousands of college-bound seniors on their choice of college at National College Signing Day 2016.
As the official host site of National College Signing Day, HCZ welcomed nearly 5,000 seniors from across New York City to the Harlem Armory to join the celebration with our HCZ Promise Academy and Zone high school seniors.
Mrs. Obama, who showed up in a Princeton T-shirt, honored New York City students — and offered some advice.
“Ask for help, you all,” she told the seniors at the event, which is part of the First Lady’s Reach Higher initiative. “No one gets through college alone.”
We couldn’t agree more. At Harlem Children’s Zone, we are committed to keeping a promsie to our scholars to help each and every one of them get to and through college.
Today we show our college pride in honor of you! Happy #CollegeSigningDay, Class of 2020. 🎓 🎉 #ReachHigher pic.twitter.com/m3yyylBoHQ
