Since the outbreak of COVID-19, there have been severe blood shortages in New York and throughout the country. Giving blood is safe. Governor Cuomo is strongly encouraging eligible and healthy New Yorkers to make an appointment to donate blood.

Funeral & Burial Guidance

NYC has been working with funeral homes, crematories, hospitals, and nursing homes throughout the five boroughs during the coronavirus (COVID-19) public health emergency to ensure that those we’ve lost are treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.

To increase access to care for New Yorkers who have symptoms or questions about COVID-19, NYC Health + Hospitals will continue to offer guidance and up-to-date information through their Phone-a-Clinician Hotline at 844-NYC-4NYC.

Antibody Survey

Antibody testing will be offered on an appointment-only basis for approximately two weeks in the Morrisania, East New York, Upper Manhattan, Concord, and Long Island City. Scheduling will open this Friday by dedicated hotline, and individual test results will be available in 24-48 hours.

Individuals and families can sign up for Medicaid or ACA health plans until May 15th.

NY State of Heath Immigrant Care

Use of health services related to COVID-19 will NOT be considered under the Public Charge rule and will NOT impact your ability to apply for a green card or citizenship.

Co-Pay and Medicaid Information

All New York health insurers have been directed to waive cost-sharing expenses related to coronavirus testing, emergency room visits, urgent care, telehealth, and office visits; telehealth copays are currently waived in New York State. No one who currently has Medicaid will lose coverage during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Medicaid Special Enrollment

Individuals and families can qualify for Medicaid or ACA health plans.

Telehealth

Telehealth behavioral appointments are being offered. Patients will be triaged to assess if their visit qualifies for an in-person visit.

Health Insurance Deductables

High-deductible health plans (HDHPs) can pay for 2019 Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19)-related testing and treatment, without jeopardizing their status.
