Writing Specialist (PT), Education

Harlem Children’s Zone is currently seeking a part-time Writing Specialist to work with a small team of writers and educators to develop a college readiness writing enrichment program for HCZ high school juniors and seniors.  The Writing Specialist will prepare for and co-facilitate workshops that integrate assesment and instructing.  This position requires a dedication of up to 28 hours a week, and could lead to a long term position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with the development of a college readiness and writing enrichment program
• Prepare and co-facilitate workshops
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualification, Skills and Knowledge Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field 
• Must have exceptional writing skills
• Extensive experience working with adolescents in both creative and college writing
• Experience in writing curriculum a plus
• Must be available to work from June to September 2012
